Well we are out and about test driving some of the latest gear, this time we have been using the all new Companion EXO 430 tent... What an awesome piece of gear. Extremely fast and easy to put up with its external frame, the tent is permanently clipped to the frame so this makes it even faster to put up.
Heaps of internal room with no poles to cramp your living space.
The frame is all alloy unlike another brand we have seen that has a plastic crown at the top of the tent and I can see that breaking!
Lots if little design winners, pockets with zips that the guy ropes pop back into, fully waterproof tent inner so you don't need to use the fly if you don't want to, gusseted windows for good ventilation and privacy plus if there is a chance of rain having the windows set up this way you will pretty much eliminate any splashes coming through the window, you can open the windows fully for maximum ventillation.
Good quality floor material that is much thicker and quieter than some brands and real solid tent pegs that don't bend in sand like some cheapies!
The poles for the awenings are solid yet lightweight and are made from alloy...a permanently attached front door mat is a nice addition!
Packing away is pretty quick too with the EXO frame making it a breeze,Simply unpeg and sort yout guy ropes then grab the handle at the top of the tent and the frame collapses in seconds then you roll the tent up and all packs into a very solid bag ready for your next trip.
All round the EXO is a very good quality tent, it has the design, quality materials and is truly an argument free job putting this tent up...easliy done by 1 person all this justifies investmen...yes the tent is more than a standard dome or traditional tourer tent but use it once and you will agree it's worth it!
